Offering things and service


It is common that English speakers make offers in conversations in order to be polite and helpful. When they do so they use these expressions:

Offering
  • Shall I (verb1)……….?
  • Would you like me to (Verb1)………..?
  • Would you like ………?
Accepting an Offer
  • Oh yes, I’d love to.
  • That sounds nice.
  • That’s very kind of you.
  • Oh, thank you. Yes, please
Refusing an Offer
  • I’m sorry I can’t. I have to …
  • Oh, I’d love to, but I don’t think I can’t. 
  • It’s all right. I can.......
